Baker Hughes is participating to this project through one of its Affiliates, Nuovo Pignone Tecnologie srl. Nuovo Pignone was founded in 1842 as a foundry and started to produce machinery for industrial and energy applications at the turn of the 19th century.
Baker Hughes is involved in many projects together with firms and universities of recognized technological standing, also as part of programmes sponsored by the European Union and Ministerial National Plans.
Baker Hughes is interested in leading edge technologies able to provide more reliable and competitive turbomachinery products for customers and to explore cross-fertilization of technologies from one market to adjacent ones with strong focus on energy technology.
MAIN TASKS IN PROJECT
Baker Hughes will design in collaboration with City, the full-scale CO2 turbine together with the auxiliaries and evaluate pump performance and characteristics.
Baker Hughes will provide a cost assessment of the full-scale CO2 power block.
Andrea Paggini
Is currently Principal Engineer for steam turbines and axial expanders. M.Sc. in mechanical engineering @ University of Pisa, with more than 20 years of experience in turbine design at Baker Hughes.
Marco Fiori
Is Product Line Manager for steam turbine and axial expander. M. Sc. In mechanical engineering @ Università di Parma, with more than 15 years of experience in Baker Hughes on auxiliary system design for turbine and compressor and later on in product leaders department
Lorenzo Cosi
Is steam turbine and axial expander engineering manager at Nuovo Pignone. M. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering at Università degli Studi di Firenze, 20+ years’ experience in turbomachinery working on proposals, design, manufacturing, field and service aspects.
Marco Ruggiero
Is External Funding and Technology Development Senior Engineer at Baker Hughes. With 21 years of experience in the R&D space, he holds a M.Sc in mechanical engineering and a PhD in Energy Engineering from the same University.
